About Media5

Media5 Architecture is a distinguished architecture firm located in downtown Honolulu. Established in 1972, our rich history in Hawaii includes many prominent high rise buildings, resorts and condominiums, affordable housing communities, educational facilities, and commercial projects in the greater Pacific region.

Originally founded as Media Five Limited, for almost 40 years the firm gained national and international recognition, and won many design awards. In 2001 Media Five Limited was acquired by national firm Durrant Group, Inc. and subsequently became Durrant Media Five. In August 2009, after 8 years of an excellent relationship, the Media5 principals made the decision to depart from Durrant and M5 Architecture, LLC (dba Media5 Architecture) was born.

Coming back to our kama'aina roots, we are once again dedicated to the growth and success of projects in Hawaii and the greater Pacific region. Media5 Architecture has renewed dedication to a personalized service philosophy focused on providing excellent architectural design services. Our primary focus is to provide great design, quality construction documentation, and effective construction observation, all within our client's budget and schedule.

We are pleased to retain on our staff a cadre of architects, designers and production staff who have been with the firm for 20 years or more. Our team is comprised primarily licensed architects with experience averaging well over 25 years. We employ the latest production technologies, with unrivaled BIM/Revit expertise. And our commitment to sustainable design is reflected in the high proportion of our staff accredited under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
