About the Project

The original scope of renovation for the University of Hawaii Auxiliary Services Building was to convert an old bake shop into a modern electronic reprographic and mail facility. While this facility was being designed, the scope of work was modified to include demolition of additional cold storage facilities and conversion of the resulting spaces into general purpose humidity and temperature controlled warehouse space for paper and campus store merchandise.

This project required extensive modification and design coordination of the architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems of the Auxiliary Services Building. Mechanical rooms and associated roof and exterior building penetrations and vents had to be relocated to provide flexible and accessible storage space designed in accordance with Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). Also included with the scope of work were environmental services to sample and test for hazardous materials.

This project is currently under construction.
