Media5 Architecture specializes in several core disciplines.
Media5 uses a range of project-delivery methodologies, from the traditional Design-Bid-Build model, through Design-Build and Design-Assist, as well as the emerging field of Integrated Project Delivery using our in-house Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise.
Our range of services can be integrated into a package to advance your project from just the glimmer of an idea to a fully functioning reality. Or we can help you to select from our services to assure an optimal response to your specific needs. We are also experienced in serving as architect-of-record or executive architect roles, working with your designer to assure your project is constructed in a code-compliant and cost-effective manner.
Architectural Design
Media5's architectural design experience is evident in literally hundreds of completed projects, ranging from high-rise towers to single family homes. While most of our projects have involved provision of full architectural design services, we are acknowledged experts in working with other “name-brand” designers as Architect-Of-Record, assuring that the affected projects received the benefit of both market recognition as well as the technical competence needed to bring a complex project to fruition. In markets where the Media5 name is widely recognized, such as Japan, we also provide Design Architect services and collaborate with local architects-of-record to assure successful implementation of our design.
Sustainable Design
Media5 is also known for our approach to environmentally-sensitive sustainable design, and has long list of sustainable projects completed decades before sustainable design practices became widely adopted by our industry. Our experience and expertise in sustainable design is underscored by the fact that we are one of the first firms to have multiple staff members accredited in sustainable design through the US Green Building Council. We continue to encourage all staff members (including our non-design staff) to achieve sustainable design accreditation, and to integrate sustainable practices in all design and other business activities.
Planning
As part of our planning practice, Media5 has developed a package of services known as Fitment Studies. A fitment study enables public and private entities to quickly and accurately assess the potential for a project to develop or re-develop a site, and to test the market acceptance of proposed projects, with minimal investment of time and funding. In addition, Media5 offers master planning and site planning, and has extensive experience in working with developers, regulatory authorities and communities to secure land use entitlements and similar pre-design approvals.
Interior Design
Media5’s interior design practice has focused on the institutional, retail, dining and hospitality markets. We offer interior design as part of our integrated services package for full-building projects, as well as a stand-alone service for tenant improvements and similar one-off commissions. In addition, we are practiced at preparing construction drawings and specifications for other interior designers who do not offer those services, to assure full implementation of the design intent.
Graphic Design
We offer graphic design services primarily related to new construction and renovation projects for which Media5 is engaged as architect, providing a full-service approach to wayfinding and signage requirements. For these assignments, or graphic design services are integrated into the complete design package and include provision of full construction drawings and specifications
Project Management
Media5’s project management practice is an outgrowth of the services we typically provide on large and complex projects, involving development and monitoring of project schedules, selection and coordination of multiple consultant teams, maintenance and tracking of project records, interaction with regulatory authorities and community concerns, and a host of other activities: in short, making sure projects always run smoothly and our clients never lose a night’s sleep.
Strategic Asset Assessment
The Strategic Asset Assessment (SAA) services offered by Media5 are a finely-tuned amalgam of non-design services developed to enable the owner or facility manager of a building, a complex, or a geographically diverse collection to approach long-term management of and investment in those strategic assets. The core of these services is a facilities assessment methodology based on ASTM Standard E 2018-01, assuring wide acceptance of format and content. In addition, the Media5 methodology is designed to incorporate, as necessary for a project, due diligence activities, evaluation of development/re-development potential, and competitive analysis.
